HERCOR ROTC UNIT FORMED

Hercor College was granted by the ROTC authority to form its own unit
because of the large number of its students taking up ROTC. In fact,
when it was affiliated with the ROTC of another school, Hercor students
comprised more than 60% of the ROTC cadets of that unit. And so a
separate unit was formed for Hercor College and it boasts of having the
biggest and most modern ROTC office in the province fronting its own
parade grounds.

ACQUAINTANCE PARTY A BIG SUCCESS

Despite the inclement weather, Hercor students came in droves to attend
this year’s acquaintance party. Freshmen were pitted against freshmen
and upperclassmen against fellow upperclassmen in terrific dance numbers
that brought cheers from the audience. For the freshmen group, the top
cash prize of P4,000 went to the computer science students who scored an
upset against the highly-regarded HRM students who only placed 2nd this
year. And in the upperclassmen group, the criminology students also beat
their schoolmates from the HRM department to win top prize of P4,000.
2nd, 3rd and 4th placers were all given cash prices of P3,000, 2,000 and
1,000 respectively.

HERCOR OJT STUDENTS BACK FROM SINGAPORE

While Hercor College continues to send HRM and BSBA students to
Singapore for their OJT, four of its first batch of students who were
sent there six months ago have just returned. They are Florenz Joy A.
Haguisan, Emily Acojedo, Christopher Faulve, and Elain Bertuldo. Looking
more attractive and definitely more confident, the four are full of
wonderful stories about their memorable stay in the Lion City and scored
high in the evaluation sheets of their employers. In fact, all of them
were told by their employers to go back to Singapore after their
graduation.

HERCOR EXCEEDS ENROLLMENT TARGETS

Hercor College was exceeded its enrollment targets in all its
departments for AY 2007-2008 and is perhaps the only private school in
Capiz that did not suffer a drop in its enrollment. Although just four
years old, Hercor College is now just a few hundred students shy of
overtaking the biggest local private school in the province in college
population. In fact, it already leads all private schools in the
province in first year college enrollment despite having much fewer
courses.

cake decoration. Mr. Jason Moises, on the other hand, was sent to Asia
Pacific College to take advance lessons in Maya animation and ended up
being featured along with his classmates at the popular Wazzup TV Show.

to take lessons in cellphone repair, a bonus subject they will be

GOV. VIC TANCO 2nd COMMENCEMENT EXERCISES SPEAKER

For its 2nd Commencement Exercises held last March 27, 2007, Hercor
College was fortunate to have as its guest speaker, Hon. Vic Tanco, the
Provincial Governor of Capiz. Impressed by what he saw during his visit,
Gov. Tanco praised the school for giving its students first class
facilities despite its low tuition. In his inspiring speech, he
encouraged the 2-yr Computer Programming and 2-yr Hotel & Restaurant
Services graduating students to put to productive use the skills they
learned in school and to work hard to be entrepreneurs. Also present
during the commencement exercises was TESDA Provincial Director, Victor
Gallego, who gave the customary acceptance of graduates.

NO TUITION HIKE FOR 4TH CONSECUTIVE YEAR!

To be true to its mission to make quality education affordable to
everyone, Hercor College decided not to increase its tuition for
academic year 2007-2008. This is the 4th consecutive year the school has
not increased its tuition and is perhaps the only school in the region
or the entire country with that record. Despite its low tuition, the
school continues to invests money in improving its school facilities and
faculty development. In fact, two of its teachers graduated recently
with top honors in their masteral studies and the school sent five (5)
of its faculty members to Manila recently for advance training.
